What you'll need:
- 4-5 oz of clear PureLux glycerin melt and pour soap base
- 4-5 oz of shea butter PureLux melt and pour soap base
- 2 Tbsp dried orange peels
- 2 Tbsp poppy seeds
- Lemon Verbana Fragrance Oil (optional)
- Lemon Essential Oil (use at 0.16 oz by weight per pound)
- Soap Mold
- 99% Isopropyl Alcohol in Spray Bottle
- Microwave Safe Glass Bowl
- Soap Cutter
- Thermometer
- Stir
- Kitchen Scale
Step 1:
Chop up 4-5 oz of the clear melt and pour soap base into small, uniform cubes. Place them into a microwave safe container and melt in the microwave in 10-15 second increments, stirring as you go. Careful not to burn, do not let boil - over heated soap base does not smell good.
Step 2:
Once melted, let cool briefly then measure out 2 Tbsp of the dried orange peels and mix thoroughly into the clear melt and pour soap base.
Step 3:
Mix in your lemon essential oil and optionally mix in your lemon verbana fragrance Mix thoroughly. Let cool to 125-130 F, this is to ensure the orange peels do not just sink to the bottom of the mold.
Step 4:
Once cooled, pour into your soap mold. After each pour, spray with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of any soap/air bubbles. While cooling get your goat milk melt and pour soap base out.
Step 5:
Chop up 4-5 oz of shea butter melt and pour soap base into small, uniform cubes. Place them into a microwave safe container and melt in the microwave in 10-15 second increments, stirring as you go - careful not to burn.
Step 6:
Mix in your lemon essential oil. Then mix in 2 Tbsp of poppy seeds. Let cool to 125-130 F and test first layer to ensure it is firm to the touch. Mix and pour the second layer on top of the first. After each pour, spray top with 99% isopropyl alcohol to get rid of bubbles.
Step 7:
Let sit for 2-4 hours, gently pop our and wrap securely to prevent sweating.
Enjoy!
